Synopsis of the Star Wars Plot

Star Wars started in 1977, but began with Episode IV: A New Hope. To really understand the first three movies, you have to be familiar with the last three.

Phantom Menace is the progenitor of the rest of the film series. In this film, we meet Obi Wan Kenobi. Obi Wan is a padawan Jedi Knight, something like a squire or knight in training. Additionally, we meet Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is a young boy who has incredible midichlorians. These midichlorians determine the amount of the Force you can have. Confused?Here’s a little help . The Force is the main power of the Jedi. It can coerce minds, move items and project thoughts.

Attack of the Clones is the second movie. Obi Wan Kenobi is now a full Jedi and training Anakin Skywalker as his padawan learner. Count Dooku is leading a movement to sever the ties with the Galactic Republic, thus creating an empire. In the epic final battle, Dooku severs Anakin’s arm. Dooku escapes with plans for the Death Star.

Revenge of the Sith is the third movie. In this movie, Anakin Skywalker looses his wife, Padme while giving birth to twins Luke and Leia. Anakin, distraught over the loss, turns to the Dark Side, thinking he can bring Padme back to life. He and Obi Wan fight, and Anakin is beaten and disfigured. Obi Wan retreats to Tatooine and Anakin transforms into Darth Vader.

A New Hope sees Luke Skywalker now a teenager. He looses his home on Tatooine, joins Obi Wan Kenobi and friends and destroys the Death Star. Luke does not know that Leia is his sister nor Darth Vader is his father.

The Empire Strikes Back is the fifth movie. Luke goes to find Yoda to become a Jedi Knight. At the end of the movie, Darth Vader reveals he is Luke’s father and Leia is his sister.

Return of the Jedi, Luke returns as a full Jedi master. He fights his father, Darth Vader and defeats him. The emperor, Palapatine, tries to kill Luke but Darth Vader kills the Emperor. Dying, Vader atones for his errors. The empire is crushed and Luke and his friends celebrate.

Different Kinds of Star Wars Comic Books

There are many different kinds of Star Wars comic books out there, so many it can be a little confusing. Especially for people shopping for a fan that may not be as informed. There are comics centering around each of the main eras in the movies, the various cartoons and comics about stories that have never been on the screen.

The History of the Star Wars Film Franchise

The Star Wars film franchise, created by George Lucas, began its rise into pop culture phenomenon when the first movie was released on May 25, 1977. Two sequels followed in 1980 and 1983. The original films instantly had a huge cult following and launched the careers of actors, such as Harrison Ford. Character Analysis of Obi Wan Kenobi

If there was ever a modern day Oedipus, Obi Wan Kenobi would be one. Just like Oedipus, Obi Wan has hubris.

Hubris is a person’s arrogance and pride. In Greek drama, hubris always causes the downfall of man.

Qui-Gon Jinn thought he could train Anakin Skywalker as well as he had trained Obi Wan Kenobi. Obi Wan was still a padawan himself, yet tried to train Anakin as his own padawan.
